NI Surveys are regularly appointed to provide full project management services for developments, including extensions, conversions, refurbishments, planned maintenance and restoration works to existing buildings, through to new-build schemes.
Project management services range from the initial preparation of drawings, to preparing detailed Specification documents, managing the procurement process, to carrying out final defect inspections on site when work is completed by a contractor.
Whatever the size of the project, organising building works – whether new build, alterations, repairs, refurbishment or fitting out – is becoming an increasingly complex operation, requiring particular skills of a Project Manager to ensure that the works are completed efficiently, with minimum disruption and in compliance with quality and regulatory standards. The appointment of a Project Manager should be the client's first action, providing advice in respect of the procurement of the works and ensuring that all stages of the project are managed from feasibility through to completion.
Through the duration of the project, our team will oversee construction standards on site through regular site visits, monitoring timescales and budgets and providing regular progress reports to the client throughout.
For small projects the Project Manager may be able to draw up the necessary plans and specifications without the need for other consultants, whereas with larger projects a full design team may be required. In such circumstances the Project Manager will provide the client with a single point of contact through which other professional appointments such as Architects, Quantity Surveyors, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers can be co-ordinated.
